Darion Patterson
Assistant to the Pastor
Darion Patterson serves as Assistant to the Pastor and has spent 11 years in ministry. He was raised in a wide range of faith traditions—from small missionary Baptist churches in the South to a large prosperity-gospel church in Chicago. As a young adult, Darion was self-deceived, believing he was a Christian while living in unrepentant sin and pursuing a professional basketball career. After a brief encounter with the law, God radically saved him, transforming his heart and affections to serve and please Him. From that moment on, Darion felt compelled to tell others about Jesus and what He had done—a passion he continues to pursue
by God’s grace.
Since his conversion, Darion has been actively involved in evangelistic outreach, church planting, and preaching. In 2014, he helped plant a daughter church and served as one of its elders, while also carrying an itinerant preaching ministry within his former faith tradition. He will begin studies this spring at Central Baptist Theological Seminary, pursuing a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies, with plans to continue on to a Master of Divinity, Lord willing.
Darion is most passionate about making disciples, equipping believers for the work of the ministry, and faithfully expositing God’s Word. His favorite Scripture is John 3:17. He is the grateful father of three God-given gifts—Zion, Jeremiah, and Samaria.
Outside of ministry, Darion enjoys playing and watching basketball, being outdoors, hiking in the mountains, and reading Christian biographies, especially those of the Reformers and Puritans.

Dr. Lee Ormiston
Pastor EMERITUS
Pastor Lee Ormiston serves as Pastor Emeritus and brings over 30 years of faithful ministry experience. His journey to Christ began after hearing the gospel clearly explained by an evangelist and his sister-in-law, which led him to purchase a Bible and begin memorizing Scripture. Though he initially tried to convince himself that he was already a Christian, God continued to work in his heart. At the strong encouragement of their neighbors, Lee and his wife Pam attended a marriage conference where they were challenged to reflect on how God was at work in their marriage and in their personal lives. Through prayer and honest conversation, they both recognized their need for Christ. In a moment of humble surrender, they knelt together by their bed and committed their marriage and lives fully to the Lord, grounded in passages such as Romans 3:23, 6:23, 10:9, and Ephesians 2:8–10.
Pastor Lee holds a Master’s degree from Central Baptist Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry from Northland Baptist Bible College. He is especially passionate about evangelism, discipleship, and preaching, and is continually encouraged by Scripture, including 2 Corinthians 5:9, Galatians 2:20, and Isaiah 26:3 and 41:10.
Pastor Lee and Pam have been richly blessed with six children, 25 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Outside of ministry, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing guitar, and trading options.

Dan Bradley
Pastor of outreach and recovery
Pastor Dan Bradley serves as Recovery and Outreach Pastor and brings 35 years of ministry experience. His life was radically changed by God’s grace after years of addiction and brokenness. At a point when he felt hopeless and convinced there was no way God could forgive the life he had lived, the Lord intervened in a powerful way. While in a treatment center, Pastor Dan was preparing to leave, overwhelmed by guilt and shame. That evening, a friend’s father, Dick Denny, visited and shared the gospel with him, reminding Pastor Dan of the truth found in 1 John 1:9—that if we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. After that conversation, Pastor Dan returned to his room, knelt beside his bed, and cried out to the Lord for salvation. In that moment of complete surrender, he experienced a peace he had never known before, and by God’s grace, he was born again.
Pastor Dan has completed various seminary courses and has also devoted many years to self-study. He is especially passionate about Bikers for Christ, inner-city outreach, and recovery ministries, using his own testimony to point others to the hope found in Christ. His faith continues to be anchored by Psalm 121.
Pastor Dan and his wife Geri are blessed with four children—Erin, Katie, Josh, and Shawn—and eight grandchildren: Rylan, Addi, Skyler, Levi, Elijah, Giovanni, Harrison, and Olivia. Outside of ministry, Pastor Dan enjoys motorcycles, fishing, and hunting.

Isabelle Ormiston
Director of kids and youth ministry
Isabelle Ormiston serves as the Director of Kids and Youth Ministry, bringing over 10 years of ministry experience and a deep passion for discipling the next generation. Isabelle came to know Jesus at the age of five after hearing the gospel regularly in her home. Even at a young age, the Holy Spirit convicted her heart and revealed her need for a Savior. With her parents, she prayed and asked Jesus to forgive her sins and become the Lord of her life.
As Isabelle grew older, her faith was refined through seasons of struggle, doubt, and sin. Rather than walking away, she chose to pursue Jesus wholeheartedly and to seek truth in His Word. Through intentional study of Scripture, God proved Himself faithful, strengthening her faith and reminding her that she is His child and that His grace is sufficient. Today, her relationship with Christ is firmly rooted in the Word of God, and she walks with confidence knowing her standing before God is secure in Jesus.
Isabelle began working with children and youth at the age of fifteen, starting a kids club out of her garage in the suburbs of South Carolina. During high school, God placed a burden for Ethiopia on her heart, leading her to take a gap year after graduation to teach English in Tigray, Ethiopia, alongside a fellow missionary. After returning to the United States, Isabelle earned her bachelor’s degree in Social Work and continued developing a heart for youth from diverse backgrounds. She moved to Minneapolis four years ago and became involved with the youth group, which experienced rapid growth during her time of service.
Isabelle is especially passionate about discipleship, believing that intentional investment in young people produces lasting spiritual fruit. Her favorite Scripture, Ephesians 3:20, serves as a continual reminder that God is able to do immeasurably more than we could ask or imagine.
Isabelle has two older sisters and three younger brothers, and her father serves as the pastor of the church. Outside of ministry, she enjoys playing and watching basketball, spending time at the lake, exploring coffee shops around the Twin Cities, and being with her family.

Laurie Ormiston
Ministry coordinator
Laurie Ormiston serves as the Ministry Coordinator at Family Baptist Church and brings over 20 years of faithful ministry experience to her role. Laurie made a profession of faith at the age of five, but as she grew older, she began to question whether she truly understood salvation. After several years of seeking clarity, she settled that question during her fifth-grade year while attending an AWANA program. One evening, after speaking with a leader about salvation, Laurie prayed and accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior, a moment that firmly grounded her faith.
Laurie earned an Associate Degree in Secretarial Science from Pillsbury Baptist Bible College, with an emphasis in administrative and office technology. She has served in a wide range of ministry roles, including teaching Preschool and Junior Church, coordinating and volunteering in the nursery, serving as a deaconess, singing on the worship team, assisting with audio and visual ministry, and coordinating church ministry schedules. Laurie has a deep passion for serving children and youth, especially teaching children ages three through five, and believes early biblical instruction is essential for building a strong foundation of faith. She also enjoys serving behind the scenes, using her gifts in organization to help ministries and people stay supported and connected.
Laurie’s favorite Scripture passage is Galatians 6:7–10, which reflects her heart for faithful and steadfast service. She and her husband, Aaron, are blessed with four children, Luke, Logan, Owen, and Olivia. Outside of ministry, Laurie is an avid football fan who enjoys cheering on the Minnesota Vikings, spending quality time with her family, and savoring a good cup of coffee.
